To run a benefit calculation for an individual participant, do the following:
- Open the Participant: before you can run a calculation for a Person, you first must open that Person. To do this, select File and then choose Open - Person.
- Specify Beneficiary Information: if the participant is married, double-click on Beneficiary Information to open the Beneficiary Information Screen.
- Add Termination Date to Historical Dates: if the client provided you with an actual termination date, double-click on Historical Dates to open the Historical Dates Screen and add a new termination date.
- Add Newly Reported Amounts: if the client provided new information such as hours or earnings, double-click on the corresponding reported amount name to open the Reported Amounts Screen and add the new amounts.
- Run the Calculation: select Home - Calc on the Home Tab to open the Calculate Screen. Provide a Calculation Date (equal to termination or estimated termination date), Payment Start Date, Small Benefit Cashout Date, and Account Determination Date (if applicable). Then press OK to get your calculation results.
- Review/Print Calculation Output: you should review the calculation output on-screen and if the results seem correct, then you should print those results.
- Export Results: if you are ready to produce client-ready results, you should export results from DB Precision. To learn how to export from DB Precision, click here
