Exporting Calculation Results

The process of exporting results from DB Precision is almost identical to the process of completing a benefit calculation. The only difference is that instead of choosing the item you want to calculate, you choose which previously created export definition you want to process.

Also, unlike calculations which are done for one person at a time, exports can be run for groups of people by running the export with a plan opened rather than with a person opened (described in the next topic).

To export calculation results for a person, do the following:

  • Open the Person
  • Open the Export Screen: press the Export button on the Home tab.
  • Specify Calculation Inputs and Press OK: select the name of the Export Definition that you want to process. For detailed instructions on this screen, click here. If there is any type of projection, you need make sure that you specify projection assumptions.
Checking Export Results

Similar to checking a benefit calculation, scan the results for things that seem unreasonable or even use a calculator to check certain items. If the results seem correct, print and/or save the Word document. Note that the underlying mail merge should already be processed, otherwise you will first need to Finish and Merge in Word.

You may notice a check box on the Export screen, Save results to archive. Once the export output has been fully reviewed, you can rerun the export in DB Precision and check this box to save an archive of the document for the person.

Sometimes, when running an export for a person, you will get a notification that 0 rows exported for a person. This indicates that a filter was set up for the chosen Export Definition and the person did not meet the filter requirements.
