The system classifies a person into different status groupings based upon the following table:

- Person is receiving a benefit payment but was then rehired after that payment's effective date.*

- Person is no longer accruing credited service as of the calculation date (transfer to salaried plan causing accruals to stop for example)

- Person is not receiving an annuity, was not cashed out, but has a deferred vested benefit (includes deferred survivor annuities)
- Person is not receiving an annuity, has no deferred vested benefit, but terminated and appears to be vested based upon plan vesting rules

- Person began receiving an annuity on or prior to measurement date, was not subsequently rehired, and the latest benefit payment is a disability type
- Person began receiving an annuity on or prior to measurement date, was not subsequently rehired, and the latest termination type was due to a disability
- Person is not receiving an annuity, has no deferred vested benefit, but terminated due to a disability (includes: Disabled - While Off the Job, Disabled - While On the Job, Disabled - Short-term, and Disabled - Long-term)

- Lump sum was paid on or prior to measurement date with an unknown effective date
- Lump sum was paid on or prior to measurement date with a known effective date and hire date is unknown
- Lump sum was paid on or prior to measurement date with a known effective date and is after hire date
- Lump sum or benefit stopped being paid on or prior to measurement date, rehire date is known, there has been no increase in vesting percentage, and is not eligible to accrue credited service after payment date
- Person began receiving an annuity on or prior to measurement date but all payments stopped on or prior to measurement date and person was not subsequently rehired
- Person is not receiving an annuity, has no deferred vested benefit, was paid employee contributions and was not subsequently rehired

* If such a participant should be treated as retired, you should add an additional payment row that is equal to the original payment row but with an effective date that is after the rehire date.
In certain situations, DB Precision will treat a person as if they have two separate statuses as of a snapshot date. These individuals are known in DB Precision
as
Dual-Status Participants. Here are the situations where DB Precision will assign multiple statuses:
