Reported Amount Text Conversion
The Reported Amount Text Conversion Screen is used to convert numeric values stored in the system to text for display purposes whenever this Reported Amount is viewed.

For example, if location code is stored using a numeric value of 1 indicating police and 2 fire, one could specify a mapping between the numeric codes and the applicable text here. The data would contain the numeric values 1 and 2, but the system would display the text Police and Fire whenever this data item is viewed.
Screen Items
The table displays the mapping between the numeric values stored in the system and the applicable text. Note that each numeric value must contain only one conversion rule. The blue Grid button pulls up another screen which displays the table data in a more user-friendly grid view.

There are two ways to enter conversion rules into the table:
  • Manual Entry: use the green "+" button to add a row then double click on it to access the Reported Amount Text Detail screen where you define the specific rule. On this new screen, enter the numeric value stored in the system in the space labeled Amount and corresponding text to be displayed in the space labeled Text. You can always use the red "-" button to delete any unwanted rule.
  • Import from File: use the blue Import button to import the conversion rules from an external ".csv" file. This option can speed up the process of defining conversion rules when you have a long list of items or when they are already defined in the required import format elsewhere.

Your file must be a ".csv" file with the following two columns:

    • Column 1: Numeric value
    • Column 2: Conversion text
When you click on the Import button, a warning comes up reminding you of the necessary format. If you click OK, you are redirected to an area where you can then select the import file. Select the file and click Open. The numeric values and text from the file will now show up as conversion rules in the table above.

Once you import the rules into the table, you can always edit them further like any manual entry described above. Simply double click on the item you wish to change to navigate the screen for editing.
