Document Date
The Document Date Screen is used to indicate when certain notable plan specific events occur (if any) for this plan, including changes in top-heavy status, changes in plan year, a plan freeze event, or attainment of key Funding Target Attainment Percentage thresholds for benefit restriction purposes.
Screen Items
  • Effective Date: enter the date of the event.
  • Date Type/Date Detail: select the type of event being reported here from the Date Type drop down box. Choices are listed below. Next select from the alternatives for Date Detail to provide the specific type of date itself within the chosen category.

    • Plan Top-heavy Status: select this date type if you wish to indicate when the plan becomes top-heavy or when it later ceases to be top-heavy. Choose the applicable Date Detail that corresponds to the specific date you are entering - either Top-heavy or Not Top-heavy.
    • Plan Year Change: select this option if you are indicating the date of a plan year change. There is only one corresponding choice for Date Detail - Change Plan Year.
    • Plan Freeze Status: use this selection to indicate dates related to a plan freeze. Enter the Date Detail that corresponds to the specific date you are entering - either Start Accruals, Freeze Plan, or Unfreeze Plan.
    • Funding Target Attainment Percentage: select this date type if you wish to indicate noteworthy changes in the plan's Funding Target Attainment Percentage for purposes of benefit restrictions. Choose the threshold that corresponds to the specific date being entered in the Date Detail section - either Over 80%, Over 60%, or Less Than 60%.
