The Benefit Tax Withholding Elections Screen is used for storing tax withholding elections for a Person.
- Federal Withholding:
complete this section only if federal tax withholding should be applied to this Person's benefit payments. The entries here provide what is needed to determine the tax withholding amount.
- Federal Income Tax Withholding Indicator: check this box to apply federal tax withholding. If no withholding is desired, then this box should be left un-checked.
- Type: select whether a Fixed Amount or Fixed Percentage should be withheld, or if the witholding amount should be calculated using an IRS tax form.
- Fixed Amount (annual): enter fixed amount withholding if withholding is expressed as an amount rather than elections or percentage.
- Fixed Percentage: enter percentage withholding if withholding is expressed as a percentage rather than elections or amount.
- Form Year: select a Form Year or choose Unknown.
- Filing Status: indicate the filing status/code that is to be used for calculating federal withholding. Choose one of the following from the drop down box: None Selected, Single, Married filing jointly, Married filing separately, Head of household, or Qualified widower with child.
- Number of Allowances: select the number of allowances that are to be used when calculating federal withholding.
- Adjustment (annual): enter any additional federal withholding amount to be applied.
- IRS Form Values: use this section to auto-fill the applicable IRS W-4P Form for Tax Witholding Elections. Click View Form to see the filled out form.

State Withholding:
complete this section only if state tax withholding should be applied to this Person's benefit payments.
- State Income Tax Withholding Indicator: check this box to apply state tax withholding. If no withholding is desired, then this box should be left un-checked.
- Percentage: enter percentage withholding if withholding is expressed as a percentage rather than elections or amount.
- State Code: space to indicate which state that taxes should be withheld (usually the person's state of residence).
- Filing Code: indicate the filing status/code that is to be used for calculating state withholding. Note that these options can vary by state.
- Number of Exemptions: select the number of exemptions that are to be used when calculating state withholding.
- Additional Amount (+/-): enter any additional state withholding amount to be applied.

Local Withholding:
complete this section only if local tax withholding should be applied to this Person's benefit payments.
- Local Income Tax Withholding Indicator: check this box to apply local tax withholding. If no withholding is desired, then this box should be left un-checked.
- Percentage: enter percentage withholding if withholding is expressed as a percentage rather than elections or amount.
- Local Code: space to indicate which locality that taxes should be withheld.
- Filing Code: indicate the filing status/code that is to be used for calculating local withholding.
- Number of Exemptions: select the number of exemptions that are to be used when calculating local withholding.
- Additional Amount (+/-): enter any additional local withholding amount to be applied.
