This screen allows users to test the speed of the database connection between a user's machine (network client) and the database server which houses the PensionSoft databases. Any latency between these machines can have a negative impact on application performance due to the high volume of information transmitted between each.

To initiate a test, press the Start button. A series of tests will then be run and a score will then be provided between 0 and 100.

If you received a low test score, you should look at the network architecture to determine if there are any components such as firewall that are a bottleneck for database traffic. For web-based installations, make sure that the servers are geographically colocated. For example, in Microsoft Azure, servers should be in the same Proximity Placement Group (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/co-location for more information).
