The Benefit Allocation Import tool allows users to import benefit allocations from another data source.
Before beginning, you should prepare a file containing columns for all required items (Identifier Columns and Allocation Amount), as well as any additional optional details as described below.
Specify column numbers in the csv file being imported for the following items:
- SSN: Specify the column number where SSN is located within the file. The import will stop if a Person is not found so make sure that all people being imported already exists in DB Precision.
- Payment Start Date: This is required to identify the benefit payment where allocations are being defined.
- Benefit Amount (annual): Though optional, this better helps this tool identify the benefit that is being modified. The amount must be an annual benefit amount in the file being imported
- Institution Name: This field is required and is used to identify which Deposit Institution/payee is having the allocation defined for a given benefit.
- Account Number: This field is optional and in general should only need to be used if there are people with multiple accounts with the same institution (deposits to both a checking and savings account for example).
- Allocation Amount: This is the amount being allocated. Unlike the Benefit Amount which must be annual, this represents a per-period amount.
-
Withholding Indicator (optional):
This field must be a number where numeric codes are as follows:
- 0 / blank: No withholding
- 1: Withhold taxes from this allocation.
-
Do not Process Indicator (optional):
This field must be a number where numeric codes are as follows:
- 0 / blank: Do not process. This indicates that while the amount should be used to reduce the final default payment, it should not be processed by the Benefit Payment Service Provider.
- 1: Process.
