DB Precision includes the ability to allow users to transfer data, plan coding, and Plan Sponsor information between multiple database servers or server instances. Note that these transfers are made for a particular sponsor and do not transfer information for all sponsors. The most common usage of this functionality is to allow users to test coding changes or data changes for a sponsor or plan in a test environment prior to implementation in production.

When DB Precision is configured to connect to additional servers beyond the production server (Test, Backup, or Remote). The Server Data Transfer screen (Copy Between Servers) allows System Users to copy selected information for a sponsor between these servers. This is accessed on the Data tab's Transfer Server Data button. This button will only be enabled when a Plan Sponsor is the active tab.

Please note that some users may not be approved to transfer data. Access to transfer data can be assigned in the Standard Rights screen by a system administrator, in the Delete/Restore Data line.

Users should avoid transferring participant data back to production from another environment such as test. Oftentimes, participant data changes are continuously being made in production including through the portal that would be deleted as a result of this transfer. Also, if transferring coding or sponsor information back to production, be careful to check the change logs in production to make sure that changes were not made that could be eliminated after transfer.

• Source Database: choose the database that you would like to copy information from.
• Target Database: choose the database that you would like to copy information to.
• Information to Copy: choose the information that you would like to copy. You may select as many checkboxes as you like. Please note that information in the designated Target Database will be overwritten.
• Transfer Group: use the "Limit transfer to people with a Reported Amount of" option to restrict the people that are being transferred (only transfer police for example). Additionally, when this option is selected, you can have DB Precision first delete all existing people on the target database (so that the target database then only includes people for that sponsor of a particular group, police for example).
