Allow Users to Request Benefit Estimates using the Portal: these options allow DB Precision users to turn off the ability for portal users to process any calculations through the portal (by using the Calculate button). The two boxes here (one for participants and one for sponsors) should generally be kept checked however because the ability to run estimates is one of the most important features provided in the portal.
Prohibited Dates: this section allows for the specification of both calculation and payment start date minimums, where restrictions can be set that prevent users from entering dates that are prior to some date. This date minimum can be expressed either as a fixed date or as a function of the login/current date.
Such minimums are generally only used when the plan has been coded in DB Precision where the calculation of benefits prior to some date might not work properly (due to incomplete data or a different prior plan design for example).
Terms and Conditions: this space enables DB Precision users to indicate if portal users (participants and or sponsors) must consent to terms and conditions before calculating.
If required, there is then an area to indicate (up to three paragraphs) terms and conditions.
User Defined Rates: while rarely used, this section allows for additional rates to be displayed on the portal (including a custom description for each rate as well as min/max and default values) and then be used in the plan coding.
