The Export Row Screen details the actual layout for a row of data within the export file. This is also known as the Export Provision Screen.
Export Definitions generally only require a single provision since most export files only use one format. However, if multiple formats are to be used, a provision must be set up for each layout.
- Basic Information: this section is applicable only if the export file is to contain multiple layouts, as indicated on the Basic tab of the Export Definition screen.
- File ID: type or select a unique identifier for the row being exported.
- Precedence: used to establish an order for all provisions being exported. A row with precedence of 1 is exported first, 2 is exported second, etc.
- Row Description: space to provide a brief description for the data being exported within the provision’s row.
- Items: area to add, edit, delete and view the items in the export layout.
- Item List: lists the data fields and calculated items to be included in the export. Double clicking an item on the list allows you to edit that item's details via the Export Item screen.
Items can be added to the list using the "+" button or by selecting the Wizard button, both described below. The "+" button allows you to add individual items one-by-one, which works fine when adding just a few fields but can be time consuming when several are involved. In this case, the Plan Export Wizard provides a better, quicker alternative.
- "+" Button: used to add a single item to the export layout. Once you add an item to the list, make sure the row is highlighted, select the field to be included in that position using the boxes labeled Item Type and Item Detail below, and then double click on the row to edit the item's details.
- "-" Button: used to delete an item from the export. Simply select the item you wish to delete so that it appears highlighted and then hit the "-" button.
- Item Type and Detail: used to select the field to be included in a specific position in the export. With a row selected in the Item Type list, choose an item from the Item Detail list. Then, double click on the row to edit its details.
- Wizard: use this button to access the Plan Export Wizard, the easiest way to add several items to your export layout at a time.
- Compress: select the blue Compress button to eliminate any blank columns from the export layout.
